Fear of the unknown

What do you do when you are stepping into an unknown experience, doing something for the first time, not knowing how it will pan out?
This is a common experience for all of us and it is essential that we follow through with what we desire to do, if we want to live from our Truth, empower ourselves and not let the fear stop us.

But how do we do that? How can we overcome the fear?
The 'feel the fear and do it anyway' approach has not worked for me. I can't ignore what is there. It feels like a very unloving gesture to simply plough through the fear. It is there for a reason, to tell us something.
Just the other day I was in this situation and again and again I find that connecting with the part in me that feels the fear, hearing what it is saying and sending it Love by embracing it, relaxes the frightened part immediately.
I realised that an old memory had come to the surface and that it is time to release it. I am not the fear, so I can stand back and move back into my Heart from where I send my Love. This is my first step.
The second step to overcoming the fear is to remember who I truly AM: an infinitely loving Being who only knows LOVE. This Love conquers all fears, unless we identify with and hold onto the fear.
Stating several times " I have complete and absolute trust, hold faith and believe in myself and my divine abilities as a divine Being" moves me back into my Heart and I feel an invincible Power radiating from me. This is what is meant by 'believing in myself'.
Try it and let me know how you feel.
